In the summer of 1982, I had the privilege to tour Europe as a teenager with a chamber choir. It was my first time away from family for any significant amount of time and I was, at once, thrilled and frightened. With 16 year old hormones raging, the lack of privacy made for some very uncomfortable moments. That summer, Queen released the follow up to the huge hit, “Another One Bites The Dust” which was, “Body Language”. Freddie Mercury never sounded so sexy and purred his way through the synthy new wave-ish song. That classic song captures my summer perfectly….simmering with sexual tensions and pent up feelings….
I was just a spectator that summer, with no juicy stories, but I resolved to make some kind of progress my senior year-but that’s a tale for another time 😉
